Stormy Daniels Lawyer: Trump knows I’ll “hand him his ass” if he tries to tweet at me
Michael Avenatti says President Trump has remained quiet on Twitter regarding his legal battle with his adult-film star client because he knows Avenatti would “hand him his ass.”
Stormy Daniels’s lawyer said in an interview with Esquire released on Friday that Trump has refrained from tweeting directly at him because Trump “can’t handle a direct confrontation with me.”
“He knows that I’ll hand him his ass,” Avenatti said.
When asked if he thought Trump was afraid of him, the attorney replied, “I think he should be.”
Trump often goes after his opponents and critics via his Twitter account but he chooses people that he thinks are weak, Avenatti said.
“Like most bullies,” he added.
In the Esquire interview, Avenatti also repeated his claim that he turned down money from Republican donors who wanted to hurt Trump, saying his work has been crowd-funded.
The New York Times reported Friday that Avenatti had reached out to liberal donor David Brock’s network of liberal nonprofit and super PACs.
“Well, first of all, what The New York Times is reporting never happened,” Avenatti said.
He claims he turned down over $200,000 from Republican donors.
“It’s a bunch of nonsense,” Avenatti said of the report. “All the money that we have raised has been raised by CrowdJustice.”
Avenatti has been wrapped up in a legal battle with Trump on behalf of his client.
Daniels is suing the president to nullify a nondisclosure agreement over their alleged sexual encounter on the grounds that Trump never signed the document.
p class=”p1″>Daniels is also suing both Trump and his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, for defamation after they claimed she was lying about the affair she says she had with Trump in 2006.
